Sunday Worship Services

We have all attended family reunions. Some, quite honestly, are the type where you'd sooner be experiencing a root canal than hearing Aunt Polly spout, "My! Look how you've grown!" When the body of Christ at First Assembly gathers on Sunday, we believe it is like a family reunion, but this is the kind you want to attend! Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m.; Worship Service and children’s church begin at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday morning worship is an uplifting, inspirational time, featuring worship, special music, fellowship, drama, prayer for needs, and a teaching from God's Word. Currently Clint is conducting a verse-by-verse study of the Book of John. Every week he gives people a chance to encounter God and to respond to the challenge from the Bible.

Sunday School

Every Sunday morning from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., adults gather in the Fellowship Hall for a time of coffee, prayer, fellowship and teaching on a topic related to the Christian life. Lately this study has included video segments and discussion of the material in a highly participatory setting. During this time, children are also provided structured Bible lessons and crafts until Children's Church convenes.

Come and join us for this special time together on Sunday morning.

Children’s Church

One of the highlights of the week for many children, is coming to Children’s Church on Sunday mornings. At the same time that the main Sunday morning worship service is conducted in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m., children meet on the 2nd level for their own church service!

Children begin the service in the toddler or preschool area (depending on their respective ages) or in the sanctuary (grades 1-5.) After they help lead worship with the colorful banners, the kids are dismissed to their age-relevant service with Miss Dorothy and the team upstairs. The kids really enjoy participating in praise and worship, object lessons, Bible stories and skits that teach them about the Lord. To add an extra sparkle of excitement and enthusiasm, gospel stories are often acted out by puppets, clowns, or other special characters. The kids love it! And the great reward is that they learn about God, and have fun doing it! Each year, dozens of children find a personal relationship with Christ. Once a month, on the last Sunday, the entire church gathers in the sanctuary for "Family Sunday," giving the children's workers a much-deserved break. Clint shares a special kids message each month.

Mid-Week Service & Bible Study

Each Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m., everyone enjoys the mid-week Bible study and Hour of Power prayer at the church. This is usually a more informal time where Clint teaches on a topic of interest to believers in Christ. Questions or testimonies are often invited from the congregation. Presently the topic is "...By Any Other Name," a study on the names of God in the Bible.

At the same time that the adults are meeting in the sanctuary, our "ONE" youth group and children’s groups (HighPoint for girls, Royal Rangers for boys, and Rainbows for preschoolers) also meet in other parts of the church facility.

Choir and Worship Team

Each Thursday night the sanctuary of First Assembly of God becomes a rehearsal hall where musicians gather to work on music for that week's service. The worship team practices at 600 p.m. weekly. The team includes musicians and vocalists who work to make sure their joyful noise is drawing people closer to God. If you desire to use your gifts in worship, contact Lee Harrill, music director, through the main office.

The choir is a family in and of themselves. They care for one another and gather to hone their talents for the Lord. Lee Harrill directs this group. They sing music that ranges from contemporary to classic, gospel to a capella. If you love to sing, consider attending choir rehearsal this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. to audition.

Royal Rangers & High Point

Royal Rangers is a ministry for boys, divided up into several smaller sub-groups for ages 3 through 12. The focus of the organization is to instill Christian character and leadership qualities, while providing fun and adventurous activities. Besides times of Bible study and spiritual devotions, the boys often go on camp-outs, work on craft projects, and learn about the awesome world God our Creator has made! Royal Rangers closely resemble a "scouting" type group, but with the clear distinction of a Christian ministry, directing young men and boys toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

High Point is a fun trip around the world for girls, kindergarten through 6th grade. Christian principles are taught and emphasized, while helping the girls to develop a Christlike character as they learn about the wonderful world God has made.

Both Royal Rangers and High Point have their meetings during Wednesday, mid-week services at 7:00 p.m. Parents can bring their kids to these great groups and stay for the mid-week service and adult Bible study, which concludes simultaneously with the youth ministries, usually by 8:30 p.m. During the summer we offer fun, wholesome activities each week that run the gamut from movie nights to games to ministry training.

Nursery and Child Care

For the convenience of parents with infants, a nursery is provided for all regularly scheduled services, although at present we have no staff in the room. The nursery is kept clean and safe, as well as well-stocked. Its location is at the rear of the main foyer. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of the nursery to care for fussy kids or to take care of feeding and diapering needs.
